Communication and Messages: Please speak to us at the door with any brief messages or concerns. If you wish to discuss a more complex matter or are unable to access the above, please fill out a form on the ‘Parent’ tab to request a phone call, brief email response or meeting with the teacher.
These will be arranged at a mutually convenient time, recognising that teachers are engaged in teaching and school responsibilities throughout each day.
If your child is being collected by someone other than yourself, please inform the class teacher.
Homework
Reading: Children should read their Read Aloud book daily to an adult.
Maths: Maths homework will be handed out on Friday and due the following Tuesday.
Times tables should be practised regularly via TTRS. Please ensure your children are completing the allocated sessions set. If your child is unable to complete online learning please ask a member of the Year 4 team, and we will provide hard copies.
Times tables baseline checks will take place every half-term. Your children can access Times Tables Rockstars at home to help them prepare for this. The expectation is 20 minutes between a Friday and Tuesday. The link is below:
General Information
Uniform: Please make sure that all school uniform and PE kit is clearly labelled as it helps the children to identify their own belongings. Your child should have appropriate clothing for outdoor play in all weathers, including waterproof coats when rain is forecast. Please refer to our school uniform policy for clarification of uniform requirements.
PE Sessions:
Walnut: Monday and Wednesday
Chestnut: Monday and Wednesday
Hazel: Friday and Wednesday
On PE days, children will need to come to school wearing their kit as follows:
- PE T-Shirt: plain T-shirt in your child's house colour or school logo optional*
- PE shorts or PE jogging trousers: plain dark blue or black. No logos.
- PE Hoodie: royal blue with school logo*
- Trainers (plain black only)
* These items can be purchased from Price-Buckland.co.uk
PE will be mostly outside, so please ensure your children have warm joggers and jumpers for cold days. Trainers are preferred as they provide better support and tend to be more waterproof than plimsolls.
Medication: Please let the school and your child's class teacher know if your child has any condition requiring medication, including allergies or asthma. If your child needs to be on a course of medication, please complete the relevant form which is kept in the school office.
