Communication and Messages: Please speak to us at the door with any brief messages or concerns. If you have any concerns you wish to raise that are more personal or require more time than we can give in the mornings, please email the class teacher.
If your child is being picked up by someone other than yourself, please inform the class teacher.
Homework
Reading: Children should read their Read Aloud book daily to an adult.
Maths: Maths homework will be handed out on Friday and due on Wednesday.
Times tables should be practised regularly via TTRS. Please ensure your children are completing the allocated sessions set. If your child is unable to complete online learning please ask a member of the Year 3 team, and we will provide hard copies.
Spellings will be set on Spelling Shed online and a paper copy will be sent home for your information. Children can access their spellings from home for revision or extra practice.
Uniform: Please make sure that all school uniform and PE kit is clearly labelled as it helps the children to identify their own belongings. Your child should have appropriate clothing for outdoor play in all weathers, including waterproof coats when rain is forecast. Please refer to our school uniform policy for clarification of uniform requirements.
PE: PE sessions will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Terms 1 and 2.
On P.E. day, children will need to come to school wearing their kit as follows:
- PE T-Shirt: plain T-shirt in your child's house colour or school logo optional*
- PE shorts or PE jogging trousers: plain dark blue or black. No logos.
- PE Hoodie: royal blue with school logo*
- Trainers (plain black only)
* These items can be purchased from Price-Buckland.co.uk
P.E. will be mostly outside, so please ensure your children have warm joggers and jumpers for cold days. Trainers are preferred as they provide better support and tend to be more waterproof than plimsolls.
Swimming: Swimming lessons will be on Tuesdays starting in Term 3, continuing through to the end of the year. All children must bring a separate bag into school containing their swimming costume or trunks, swimming hat, towel, and goggles if required. Please remove earrings before school. All children will need to be able to get themselves dry and changed. Please practise this at home before Term 3.
Medication: Please let the school and your child's class teacher know if your child has any condition requiring medication, including allergies or asthma. If your child needs to be on a course of medication, please complete the relevant form which is kept in the school office.
