Tuesday was #Italian Day for Year 4. The aroma of garlic was wafting around Oak Building as they got to grips with some Italian cooking. The children made a selection of dough balls, ricotta cheese, tomato, mozzarella and basil salad kebabs, marinara sauce and garlic and parsley butter. With their red, white and green outfits covered in aprons, we felt we were in the presence of some cordon bleu cooks. The children made posters of famous Italian landmarks and people and learned about the history of il tricolore, the Italian flag. For most, the highlight was the food tasting! Probably our favourite quote was, "I really don't like the taste of tomatoes, but I love this marinara sauce" (made with lots of tomatoes.....). When asked what they had enjoyed most about the day, we had a resounding response of 'everything!

Don't forget that we are very lucky to have Gary Wilson visiting the school next Wednesday 10th January to talk about how schools and parents can help to raise boys' achievement. Gary is a fantastically entertaining (and knowledgeable) speaker and it would be lovely to have a good turnout of parents. His talk begins at 7.00pm in the Oak Hall. Please email the school office (email@example.com) if you are hoping to come so that we can ensure that we have enough seating. Looking forward to seeing you on the 10th! If you would like to know more, why not have a look at his website https://www.garywilsonraisingboysachievement.com/
